This extension allows you to group nodes or elements (generate named selections) by layer for solid elements that have been meshed in layers.





 

 

  ## Key Benefits

- You can create named selections for node or element .
- You can specify the “prefix” and the “start number” for the generated named selection objects.
- If a stair (a step caused by a difference in the number of elements between layers) is present, the elements are grouped excluding the stair.
- You can also stop the process when a step is found (step cancellation feature).
- Only hexa and wedge elements can be processed. Intermediate nodes of higher-order elements are excluded from grouping.





 

 

  ## Use Cases

This feature is useful for defining boundary conditions for each layer or performing post-processing.
