## Model.create\_oriented\_selection\_set(name, id=None, orientation\_point=(0.0, 0.0, 0.0), orientation\_direction=(0.0, 0.0, 0.0), element\_sets=None, geometries=None, rosettes=None, rosette\_selection\_method='minimum\_angle', selection\_rules=None, draping=False, draping\_seed\_point=(0.0, 0.0, 0.0), auto\_draping\_direction=True, draping\_direction=(0.0, 0.0, 1.0), draping\_mesh\_size=0.0, use\_default\_draping\_mesh\_size=True, draping\_material\_model='woven', draping\_ud\_coefficient=0.0, reference\_direction\_field=None, rotation\_angle=0.0)

Create a new oriented selection set.

### Parameters

- name: The name of the oriented element set.
- id: The ID of the oriented element set.
- orientation\_point: Orientation point for the oriented selection set.
- orientation\_direction: Orientation direction for the oriented selection set.
- element\_sets: Element sets.
- geometries: Virtual geometries.
- rosettes: Rosettes for the oriented selection set.
- rosette\_selection\_method: Method to calculate element orientation : (‘minimum\_angle’, ‘maximum\_angle’, ‘minimum\_distance’, ‘minimum\_angle\_superposed’, ‘minimum\_distance\_superposed’, ‘maximum\_angle\_superposed’, ‘ansys\_classic’, or ‘tabular\_values’).
- reference\_direction\_field: Table column used to compute reference directions.
- draping: Draping enabled.
- draping\_seed\_point: Seed point used to start draping.
- draping\_direction: Direction for draping.
- auto\_draping\_direction: Generate direction for draping.
- draping\_mesh\_size: Mesh size for draping.
- use\_default\_draping\_mesh\_size: Enable this property to use the default size for the draping mesh. The default is the average element size of the shell mesh.
- draping\_material\_model: Material model for draping, either ‘woven’ or ‘unidirectional’.
- draping\_ud\_coefficient: Coefficient for the unidirectional draping material model.
- rotation\_angle: Angle to rotate the reference directions around the orientation directions (in degree).

### Returns

The created oriented selection set.
